The Music Studio

Last week, the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District’s Garden Party had to move inside the Palace on account of rain, but that did not dampen the delight of the evening’s entertainment. At this fundraiser for the Sculpture in the Streets program—which, this year, hosts the international “Play Me I’m Yours” public piano installation—The Music Studio Kids charmed in their piano-y costumes, singing “I Love a Piano” and more, accompanied by the dazzling pianist Donald Sosin. Jesse Cohen-Greenberg took a turn at the keyboard for several crowd-pleasing songs, and Matthew Maguire let fly his elegant fingers on some Rachmaninoff and Haydn. It was not a sunny evening, but it was a lovely one.
