Never Too Old

Picture 198Four different Recreational Piano classes. Twenty-two students. Twenty-nine different pieces, including six duets, one trio, and a quartet. And, of course, one phenomenal teacher: Noel Liberty, who somehow gets nervous adults to prepare for and perform at a recital a gathering every year. This year, the program featured everything from Chopin, Clementi, and Bach to Gershwin and Kern to Billy Joel and Van Morrison. There were tangos, waltzes, show tunes, standards, pop songs, and, for the finale, “Moondance” on piano and saxophone. And about half of these wonderful pieces were performed by people who had never played the piano before starting at The Music Studio as adults. It’s kind of inspiring when you think of it that way.
