Heather Ferlo is a singer, pianist, and music teacher with a bachelor of music in vocal performance from The Crane School of Music. She grew up in the Capital Region and began her music education at The Music Studio, where she studied music fundamentals and piano for twelve years under Noel Liberty. At Crane, she was awarded the George Blaha Award in Vocal Excellence and a first-place winner of the National Opera Association Opera Production Competition. She earned certifications in Italian language and culture at the University per Stranieri in Perugia, Italy, and attended the Scuola Italia Program for Opera Singers in Vado. Further training included SongFest in Los Angeles and the Miami Frost School of Music in Salzburg, Austria.
Ms. Ferlo has experience teaching piano and voice in a range of school settings. She was a music director at St. Lawrence University and a piano and voice instructor at the Holy Name of Jesus Academy in Massena, New York. She now teaches pre-K music at St. Gregory’s in Loudonville, New York. Before teaching full-time at The Music Studio, Ms. Ferlo co-taught and substitute taught here, as well as helped lead rehearsals for The Music Studio Kids, our performance troupe.
